Who wouldn’t love to wear pajamas ALL day? Well, that is exactly what the 6th grade students at Timberlane Middle School did last month. CHFK was honored to once again be chosen to partner with the 6th graders of Timberlane for their annual community service project. The students sold CHFK tee shirts and wrist bands to start the project off. Then they were able to wear their pajamas to school for a donation of $2.00. All the money raised was used to assemble pajama and blanket bags for kids in need…all of which was organized by the students at Timberlane. And what a lot of work it was to put together the 150 bags they were able to donate with all the funds they raised!!! It just goes to show…a little bit goes a long way…

The 75 blanket bags included a soft blanket, cuddly teddy bear, a book, some toothpaste and a toothbrush. These were donated to the American Red Cross and will be given to children in local shelters. During the month of March there were a record number of house fires in our area. These bags are given to kids that have been displaced from their homes as some small comfort after they have lost everything. We are so grateful to the students of Timberlane for their compassion and hard work that will give these kids a little something to cheer them up.

Stay tuned to hear where the other 75 bags were donated!!!
